It appears that William Byron mastered that skill during the 2016 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season. He performed so well in his first season in trucks that he was offered a full-time ride in JR Motorsports No. 9 Chevrolet Camaro for the upcoming NASCAR XFINITY Series season. In 23 truck races, Byron posted seven victories and won the Sunoco Rookie of the Year Award. Liberty University, a private, non-profit Christian university located in Lynchburg, Va., was on board his truck as a primary sponsor and will serve in the same capacity on his Camaro in 2017.
