RED BYRON 1949 PARKS NOVELTY OLDSMOBILE LIQUID COLOR 1/24 ACTION (ONLY 72 MADE)
Limited edition of 72 made. This is a brilliantly shining "liquid color" rendition of NASCAR's first Champion's ride. A NASCAR legend and a World War II Veteran are two very distinct honors that sum up Robert Red Byron one of racings all-time greatest drivers. In 1949, the very first official NASCAR season, Byron was at his prime in stock car racing. He outraced the field and won two of the eight races that season. He was the first driver to win a race on the tough beaches of Daytona and the inaugural premier series points champion. And to add a twist, he did it all with a brace attached to the clutch pedal that assisted with a leg injury Byron sustained in World War II, that left him hospitalized for 27 months . Champion, veteran, and hero define him. Add in superior racing skills and we know why he has earned his spot in the National Motorsports Hall of Fame. Now, Lionel NASCAR Collectables is honored to release the 1949 No. 22 Parks Novelty Oldsmobile that Byron drove into the record books! As the newest edition to the NASCAR Classics line, this historic die-cast features a replica black paint scheme, No. 22 on the trunk and his name above both side windows. Race fans do not one to miss the history- making die-cast of Byron a tribute to the sports first champion. Submit your order now!
