MARK MARTIN AUTOGRAPHED ORANGE & WHITE VIAGARA 1/24 OWNER'S SERIES BY TEAM CALIBER
This is one of the HOTTEST DIECAST OF 2005... That being said, here's the story behind the car: In 1981 Mark made his Cup Series debut in a very similar orange and white car.In 1981, Mark Martin began his pursuit to enter the world of NASCAR with Banjo Grimm and Ray Dillon as they teamed up for a five-race effort. Martin, who was funding the team out of his own pocket, desired to win his first stock car race. The result of their three-man team produced the No.02 orange and white car that made its debut at one of NASCARs most well known short tracks, North Wilkesboro, on April 5, 1981. Mark Martin was not shy in demonstrating his passion to be the best. In only his third start, he won the pole at Nashville Speedway on July 11, 1981. In Martins fourth appearance, he confiscated a second pole at Richmond International Raceway, before moving on to his first career Winston Cup top-10 finish. To complete his five-race season, Martin qualified fifth at Martinsville and finished third, his first career top-five.Twenty-four years later, Martin will stroll down pit road, climb into the drivers side window, buckle each fastening of his safety harness, place his helmet over his head and flip the switch on his the No. 6 Viagra Orange Ford Taurus. Once thought to be a struggling ride to prove talent in a tough competitor field, the orange and white paint scheme returns as a symbol of homage at the Phoenix International Raceway on the No. 6 Viagra Ford Taurus the weekend of November 13, 2005. At Phoenix in November 2005 he will bring his cycle full-circle and run this special color scheme again. That's special, but what makes this car even more special is the Fact that is comes from Team Caliber Hand-Signed by Mark himself. It features all the improved 2005 Owner's series detail, which sets the new high-standard in diecast excellence.
