Hamlin tried several times to make his way to the lead, only to be denied. That was until the races final lap, when Hamlin provided a tap to the leaders bumper. With the contact, Hamlin was able to steer to the lead that he would not relinquish as the checkered flag waved. Hamlins 49th career NASCAR Cup Series victory was also the 400th all-time for the Joe Gibbs Racing organization.
