When Chase Elliott takes to Darlington Raceway looking for victory in the Bojangles Southern 500 this September, he will be doing so in a paint scheme that pays tribute to his late cousin Casey.
Casey Elliott was a standout on the short tracks of Georgia and beyond in the early 1990s. He then moved into the All-Pro Series and made a few starts in the NASCAR Xfinity SeriesTM. Tragically, in 1993, Casey was diagnosed with cancer that ultimately claimed his life in 1996 at the age of 21.
To honor Caseys legacy and his place in the Elliott family racing heritage, Chase Elliotts No. 9 NAPA Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 will feature a paint scheme at Darlington that throws it back to a similar scheme that Casey drove years ago.
