WENDELL SCOTT 1940 FORD COUPE 1/24 ACTION
Wendell Scott Success Against All Odds Wendell Scott is the only African-American driver to have ever won a NASCAR race. On December 1, 1963 at Speedway Park in Jacksonville, Fla., Scott edged Buck Baker for the win in a historic finish that is still celebrated today. But that barrier-breaking victory wasnt the only measure of Scotts success. Scott won 128 races on various circuits before moving to the NASCAR premier series. Once he joined the countrys best racers, Scott still was able to consistently finish in the top 10 in the standings despite having to run hand-me-down equipment. Part of the NASCAR Classics line, this 1940 Ford die-cast re-creates one of the cars Scott drove on dirt tracks throughout the Southeast.
