Before becoming Bowmans crew chief in the NASCAR Cup SeriesTM, Ives was an accomplished Super Late Model racer on the short tracks of his native Michigan. Years later, Bowman and the No. 48 car will honor Ives short track days with a special paint scheme that matches one Ives ran years ago.
