As part of the 75th Anniversary of NASCAR, the NASCAR All-Star Race will be held at the historic North Caroilna facility. North Wilkesboro hosted its first race in May of 1947. Over the next five decades, more than 90 NASCAR Cup Series events were held at the historic 0.625-mile track before it was closed in 1996. Now, the eyes of the motorsports world will be on a resurrected and refreshed North Wilkesboro Speedway May 19-21 as the biggest names in NASCAR battle for the victory in the NASCAR All-Star Race, one of the sports most cherished and celebrated events. Fans can now honor the return of NASCAR racing at North Wilkesboro with a special NASCAR All-Star Race die-cast from Lionel Racing.
