The two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion picked up the win in the second race of the 2023 season the Pala Casino 400 at Auto Club Speedway in California. Busch took the victory with his No. 8 Lucas Oil Chevrolet Camaro in just his second points-paying start since joining the RCR organization in the off-season. He took the lead for the final time with just 20 laps remaining and cruised beneath the checkered flag for the 61st NASCAR Cup Series victory of his career. Buschs first win at RCR came in the final race of the current twomile configuration at Auto Club Speedway before it is transformed into a short track.
